I'm excreting yellow puss from my penis. Is this an infection? An STD? Should I be concerned?

Just today I started to experience pain while urinating. I thought I was dehydrated, but when I changed clothes later, my underwear had some sort of yellow coloring on them. I looked more closely and saw a yellow puss coming form my penis. Is this an infection? An STD? Should I be concerned? Just concerned about what it might be.

A yellow urethral discharge associated with painful urination is almost always due to a bacterial urethral infection. An STD (usually gonorrhoriea) is the likely source, although a non-STD cause is possible. Proper antibiotic therapy should cure it fairly easily.
