Is it important who does the TURBT procedure?

I had a sudden episode of bleeding with blood clots in my urine. I saw a urologist yesterday who told me I needed to have a TURBT. I'm here alone and wondered if I should go home to have this done as the doctor said that although the tumor appears superficial, it's likely to reoccur. Should the doctor I choose be board certified and the same one I would expect to use in the future?

Yes, it is important to find the right doctor to perform this procedure, as this will minimize the risk of complications. A board certified physician is best, and he or she can be used in the future should other urological problems arise.
