It's been 10 days since I had cryotherapy. The catheter is still in and blood is leaking from my penis. My scrotum/penis are swollen. What's wrong?

My doctor told me that my prostate was the size of an orange. I am now finding out that the procedure is not recommended for men with large prostates. Could this be the problem? Is there a solution to this situation? Is it too late for a radical prostatectomy? It's been 10 days since I had cryotherapy. The catheter is still in and blood is leaking from my penis. My scrotum and penis are swollen. What's going on?

Cryoablation is a good, appropriate treatment for select cases of prostate cancer. However, without knowing the facts or being involved in your preoperative evaluation, I cannot give an opinion. My advice for the moment is to be patient as these situations almost always resolve with time while healing occurs. Still, if you are concerned and need peace of mind, I would recommend you contact your physician and get in for an evaluation.
